Our Village

How to use the hub

This is Mēlani's moment to rest, heal, and have her cup filled. After years of hospital visits and chest pains that were never properly named, she now knows what it is and what to do — and she is inviting her community of care in at whatever level each person can, with love and care overflowing into her heart, home and connections.

Joining

Everyone
  1. Tap “Join the village”, add your name, email and a password.
  2. Pick what you'd like to hear about: general updates about Mēlani, Asherah's Haven, or Asherah news. You can pick more than one.
  3. If Mēlani sent you an invite link, use it — it puts you in the right circle automatically.
  4. Check your email and click the confirmation link. Then sign in.

About you

Everyone
  1. After signing in, open “About you”.
  2. Share your birthday, favorites and how you like to be appreciated (closer circles get a few more questions).
  3. Choose the ways you can help — meals, rides, school pick-up and more — and when you're usually free.
  4. Only Mēlani sees these answers.

Calendars

Everyone
  1. Open “Calendars” to see what's coming up.
  2. Tap the colored layers to show or hide them: Asherah's schedule, Mēlani's care, art events, community.
  3. You'll only see the layers meant for your circle.
  4. Asherah's theater schedule lives on the Desa Theater Hub — there's a button to open it.

Updates

Everyone
  1. Open “Updates” to read the latest news meant for you.
  2. Mēlani: write a title and message, tap who it's for, then “Share update”.

Health

Mēlani, Inner Circle, My Circle
  1. My Circle can see the medication list.
  2. Inner Circle can also see check-ins: medicines taken, meals, sleep, vitals, weight and tests.
  3. Mēlani: use “Today” to tap “Took it” for each medicine and log waking, eating and sleep in one tap.
  4. Before a doctor's visit, open “Doctor summary”, pick a time range and print or save as PDF.

For Asherah's dad

Co-parent
  1. Open “Calendars” — Asherah's schedule is there.
  2. Tap “Add event” to put pick-ups, practices or plans on her calendar.
  3. Check “Updates” for news about Asherah.

Asherah's space

Asherah and Mom only
  1. See your week, your contact list, and private info (marked “don't repeat”).
  2. Want to go somewhere? Fill in “Ask permission” — Mom gets it and answers yes or no.
  3. After an approved event you can share photos.
